Disclaimer: I own none of these images. I have started a passion project, of which this is the first to be posted. All of the photo’s in the series were originally black and white or sepia and most if not all are focused on people who history usually forgets People of colour, LGBT+ People, Women etc.
These are the kinds of photos that probably wont get professionally coloured in museum collections, and they usually wont even been seen by many people.
I feel it’s important to bring new life to these images so a new generation can see them and appreciate our histories.
I have tried my best to be historically accurate but I am not a historian, I’m an artist andany comments to help with accuracy are always appreciated.
I try not assume gender or labels and am just using the gender or labels used by the original image descriptions
TLDR: This is an important series for me, bringing new life to old images of usually historically forgotten people I have tried my hardest to be accurate. I have not assumed any genders or labels but have used the info attached the original. DO NOT DELETE MY CAPTIONS PLEASE!
