The post about Dream Daddy’s announcement got more attention on tumblr in less than 24 hours (100k notes) than any other post about ANY video game announced/shown at E3 2017

In other words, a gay dad dating sim created by a bunch of YouTube comedians who play Mario and make dick jokes for a living got more attention and hype than games with 4-fuckass-K HD graphics or some shit, and giant budgets, owned/created by huge companies who overall take themselves extremely seriously

That’s because Tumblr is nothing if not willing to overlook a five year history of racism for gay dad jokes

Oh god, what did they do? (I basically know nothing about them except that they’re popular, ranted about Subway, and did an Undertale LP.)

Well Jon Jafari, the founder, is a whole hot nazi mess in and of himself, but the Game Grumps have a looooong history of racist jokes. The GG reddit is literally full of people cooing about it and asking each other what their favorite racist joke was, or which videos have the most racist jokes so they can go find them. They’re the let’s players that popularized screaming the n-word in the middle of the damn video for no fucking reason. 

There’s actually a 10+ minute compilation on youtube of their “best racist jokes” which I’m not going to link to, because. No. People can find it themselves if they’re that curious. 

They’ve also featured rape jokes, misogyny, transphobia, transmisogyny, and pretty much every other bigotry that reminds the world that gaming culture as a whole is the biggest can of absolute trash
